  2. Can DoiT Navigator support amoritizing credits across the months they were used? For example, if a customer received credits in July that covered usage from all of Q2. Is it possible to distribute these historically with the amoritized cost metric?

  3. Hello Team,

the customer would like to be able to 'Pause' the process of running heavy reports which would allow last minute adjustments to be done within Group By/ Filter before the data loads.

Running heavy reports takes time to load, and if any adjustments need to be done to Filtering or Group By they need to wait first until the heavy report loads before they can go back and adjust and re-load.

A 'Stop' or 'Pause' button would help this.

    Kind Regards,

  4. Automated recommendations tool that provides cost optimisation tips such as: ec2 and rds rightsizing, recommendations to purchase RIs on stable workloads, snapshot deletion recommendations and more - each recommendation shows how much money can be saved per action.

  5. Hi Team,

I'd like to propose a graphical enhancement to reports visualisation

    Issue Summary:
When using reports with 2-dimensional graphical chart types (Stacked Columns, Lines, etc) users infer the trends in their costs eyeballing the data as there's no trend (or regression) line describing visually how the data changed over time. This leads to reports lacking information and requiring extra steps to get to the desired information

    Desired Outcome:
A graphical aid that tells the user if the data is trending upwards or downwards and by how much in an intuitive manner

    Suggested Solution:
A linear (to keep it computationally…

  6. Hello Team,

The customer would like to be able to Filter/ Group by 'Service Item' level, which would provide higher granularity than the existing 'Service', grouping the specific Service costs into subcategories that make more sense to FinOps teams than Service or SKU levels.

On EC2 example, this would be sub categories such as:
EC2 Compute, EC2 Transfer, EC2 NAT Gateway Usage etc.

This granularity would be something that shows the cost specificities linked to a certain Service.

Setting up these 'Service Items' would be extremely manual in Cloud Navigator within Attributions, hence it makes more convenient for the customer…

  7. Customer problem:

Currently, to set up a subscription to a report, the configuration is done through a cron syntax, which is sometimes not very intuitive or easy to use. With this project, we want to improve and simplify the subscription process so that our customers don’t miss out on anything!

  8. New legal requirements mean more companies need to report on the carbon footprint of their cloud usage. AWS' own tool is often incorrect, and Azure's is difficult to use plus it requires customers to go into PowerBI. Ideally this would be something Navigator could support in our own reporting view.

  9. Stacked column chart unclear for this type of report. The sums at the top of the columns are unclear. Perhaps we should restrict the type of report you can build if you view your data this way? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fCEVzsh4DYYjRs_W-r4GXiYTMRetWpMB/view

  10. Interactive UI, similar to CHT or Vantage that lets you click on a service and automatically show you the drill down if the consumption. In addition, the reporting shows your current consumption vs last months exact time frame.

  11. AWS has the option to pay for more updated data in Cost Explorer. When a customer already pays for this, they would like to see it available in Navigator reporting.

  12. The customer wants to send scheduled reports to different Slack channels.

For instance, they've created two separate reports: one covering data-related services like BigQuery, and another focusing on application-related services like GKE and GCE. They would like to send these reports to different Slack channels—specifically, the Data Team Channel and the Application Channel, respectively.

Although Slack supports the channel email, it is only available for the Pro version.

  14. Feature Request: Cloud Vendor Filtering
This is just a suggestion - since we onboarded AWS (previously we only had GCP) it's gotten annoying to filter each cloud vendor when I want to look at it specifically.

I'd suggest adding the option to filter cloud vendors (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc) somewhere else and not under the Filter drop-down menu.

Doing these multiple clicks each time isn't very convenient.

  15. Customer wishes they could annotate reports in the console so they can mark which month eg. they made a specific change in their infrastructure. This way dips or spikes that were expected could be clarified in reports with a little note.

  16. Currently you can only do full month comparisons which makes it cumbersome to quickly compare how you're doing this month vs last at a granular level.

For example, we're currently 22 days into May. I want to see this month vs up to the 22nd of last month.

It's possible to do this breaking it down by days, but that gets very tedious trying to scroll up and down to compare the data, losing your place etc.

  17. When setting up a report for email delivery, it would be nice if it could be set to include multiple chart options. As an example, to include both the stacked bar and chart option.

Or to possibly include two reports in one email where they show the different chart types in the same email.
