We need to track "grandfathered" customers who receive PE (Partner Escalation) on GCP without being charged as a result of having a qualifying B2B agreement. A proposed solution involves creating dummy contracts in the console for these customers and adding a flag to identify grandfathered customers.
Core Problem: Grandfathered customers receiving PE on GCP are not being charged, but there's no clear flag to indicate this, leading to confusion for CRE teams and auditors, as they are dependent on a PLPS contract…

Add internal metadata to Analytics Frontend
For doers it would be nice to add additional meta data to reports, like in this case:
Oct 9th @2PM but the report only shows billing data until Oct 8th.
- when was the latest run of our data pipeline?
- when was this data cached last?
- why don't we show newer data?
1 voteWe already show when a report was cached. Billing data has latency, which is why the data doesn't go all the way up to oct 9.

Make historical AWS accounts visible in Cloud Analytics
Older historical AWS accounts are currently not being searchable in the filters in Cloud Analytics and need to be added manually.
Could we make historical AWS accounts searchable in filters in Cloud Analytics without manually adding an account?
This will help to have an overview of all account data from reports.We need that for our data integrity as the integrity is false vs AWS cost explorer

Report Subscription - Email Full Report CSV
Please add an option to deliver reports via email in CSV or Excel format to recipients that are not Doit Console users. For example the ability to send the email report to a distribution list or someone that would not want to use the Doit Console. Thanks!

Preview insights to be enabled in "Insights coverage" popup
On the "Insights coverage" popup (https://share.cleanshot.com/HNdfYdy8) I think it'd help to preview or link to the insights you would get were you to set up the appropriate permissions.
Whether it be a few examples, or links to our documentation or the cloud providers' that is more specific of the type of insights you'll start getting. Could help in cases with getting a customer to set it up.

Provide self-service 0-day administrative access to AWS MPAs to customers with the `Power User` role.
As this is quite a recurring topic, especially with our DCI Enterprise customers.
The idea would be to allow privileged users to access to both AWS programmatic access, and AWS web console access from the assets page.
Optionally, for specific cases, provide a Doer-eyes-only (CSOS) toggle to deny (default) or allow:
- cost explorer
- IAM

Chat Support for CREs
Got this question from a customer I think it is good idea to add chat capabilities somehow for our tickets :slightlysmilingface:
"Is chat support available? I recently had a great experience with Pressable, the company that hosts our WP site. I had an issue moving a staging site to production with DNS, and the tech was able to help within a few minutes of chatting back and forth. I provided screenshots and a video of what was happening. Could your reps provide a similar experience?"

Anomaly detection on the Usage data
Expand our existing cost anomaly detection using the billing data to also support the anomaly detection on the usage data

More flexibility in Cloud Analytics to see different types of Cost
It would be really helpful for customers to be able to see more than just usage and discounted costs. Many customers want to be able to see list price, contract price (not discounted), costs without CUDs, SUDS or SPs.
The way the Google console has implemented this is pretty nice since you can just click a button to see different costs based on different variables.

A color picker for reports
How about a color picker allowing us to change the color scheme in the reports?
I'm sure we all have separate dashboards that would benefit from consistency in the color scheme, or that we transition from former dataviz tools and would be glad to find the same colors here. Or that some of us simply would prefer another scheme.
Anyway, while not critical of course, that would make my life easier.

Shareable Links for Dashboards
Dashboard URLs get stale very quickly because they rely on the name rather than an id. I can't find a share link for dashboards, I assume it doesn't exist. It's annoying because any rename will break existing links.

Store report configuration in the browser URL
I often explore data in reports, tweaking the filters and groups etc. I run into issues with that:
- I can't easily share the report with someone else. I'd have to save it, but I don't want to keep it around forever. Instead I take a screenshot, but it's not interactive.
- If I close the tab and re-open it, my changes are gone. Same thing if the tab reloads for some reason.

Report subscription in slack shows differently to actual report
The report which is sent to Slack should be the same format as the report that I have setup in the portal. I have a report which is a table and when its sent to slack it turns into a bar chart. This is not how I would expect the report to be displayed. It should show me what I setup in the portal
1 voteThe image in Slack is meant to be a preview. Sending large quantities of raw data to Slack is unpredictable and a security risk.

Pagination In Report Query Endpoint
Issue: trying to query large and granular datasets from the Billing data source.
This is not possible without pagination since the rate limit and payload size limit are insufficient to do it in scale.
Pagination is already implemented in other endpoints in the analytics API but not in the endpoint that will be most affected by it.5 votes -

Add support for any email address in Budgets
Add ability to add/set/paste any email address into Budget's settings, so DoIT customers will not need to enroll this email address as user in DoIT platform and no need to manage permissions etc. Just please make the same as in AWS Bugdets, where any email can be specified and thats all.

Slack Connect Channel Name
Please make it possible to rename the slack connect channel.
The slack channel for notifications was automatically created and added to our organization as a shared slack connect channel. The name of this channel is just our company name, so it is really hard to see that this channel is actually related to doit
Usually our slack connect channels have the name of both companies so you can immediately see which partner organization the channel belongs to

Add context to DoiT Insights when using the "Contact Support" button
It will be very useful for customers and internal teams (CRE/TAM/AM) if we add context (link to original insight, screenshot, insight text, potential saving, project names) when a customer clicks the "Contact Support"

Add "Contact an Expert" feature to all Lenses
This is an idea for all lenses
Add a "Contact an <Lens> Expert" button to all Lenses dashboards that would automatically open a CRE ticket with all relevant context.
For example the GKE Lens should have a "Contact a GKE Expert)
