Bulk Report Management in DoIT Console
Salut la Product Team,
I am writing to request an enhancement to the DoIT console that would streamline the process of managing reports within dashboards.
Issue Summary:
At present, the DoIT console requires users to add reports to dashboards individually. This process can be time-consuming and cumbersome, especially for users who need to manage a large number of reports across various dashboards.
Desired Outcome:
I would like to see the introduction of a feature that allows users to add reports to dashboards in bulk, similar to how permissions and labels are currently managed within the console.
This feature should enable the following:
- The ability to select multiple reports from a list and add them to a dashboard in a single action.
- The option to manage report lists, including creating, editing, and deleting lists of reports for different purposes or teams.
- The capability to apply changes to multiple dashboards simultaneously, such as adding a set of reports to several dashboards at once.
Suggested Solutions:
- Implement a checkbox system next to each report in the report management view, allowing users to select multiple reports.
- Add a "Manage Lists" option where users can create named lists of reports and curate the contents of each list.
- Introduce a "Bulk Actions" menu (exactly as you can manage the permissions) that provides options to add selected reports to dashboards, remove them, or update their settings in bulk.
Impact:
The ability to manage reports in bulk would save users a significant amount of time and effort (please), particularly for those who oversee complex dashboard configurations. It would also reduce the potential for errors that can occur when adding reports individually and improve the overall user experience of the DoIT console.
This feature would be especially beneficial for orgs with large cloud environments where dashboards are super useful for monitoring and managing cloud resources/costs.
Merci :)
