Building a MAP Migration tool to assist in identification and tagging/tracking of MAP eligible workloads.
Building a MAP Migration tagging tool to assist in directions/ guidance using Ava to identify and tag MAP eligible workloads.
This would be displayed through a lens or dashboard to showcase - current tagged ARR to date, credits expected and credits received to date. I have sent pictures from a competitors tool that I can showcase. This has been a lead generator for competitors and would be very useful to help customers track their MAP tagged workloads and credits.
Monitor the costs and AWS credits of workloads migrated through AWS’s Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) with AWS MAP Lens , an out-of-the-box dashboard by DoiT that gives you a comprehensive financial view of your MAP migration.
If you have tagged AWS resources with the “ map-migration ” tag, the AWS MAP Lens will auto populate your spending and credits from past 12 months in a set of pre-defined widgets:
- MAP Spend History helps you track your migration spending trajectory and validate if actual costs match your TCO calculations, ensuring you can identify and respond to any concerning spending patterns early.
- MAP Spend by Service shows which AWS services are driving your migration costs, helping you spot optimization opportunities and validate if your service adoption aligns with the planned migration strategy.
- MAP Spend by Account enables you to monitor costs across different workloads and accounts, ensuring each migration project stays within budget while helping with cost allocation and prioritization decisions.
- MAP Spend by Resources breaks down the costs of your migrated workloads to individual components — EC2 instances, S3 buckets, or RDS databases for example — helping you validate proper MAP tagging and make optimization decisions based on actual resource-level usage.
- MAP Credits History tracks the credits AWS provides based on your successfully migrated workloads, showing you the actual financial benefits you're receiving through MAP over time.We are also actively developing an auto-tagging capability for the AWS MAP workloads using CloudFlow.
