  1. I am writing to propose an enhancement to the BQ Lens feature within the DoiT Console. This suggestion stems from our recent experiences and challenges while trying to integrate BQ Lens into our systems at Froomle.

    Current Challenge:
The BQ Lens feature currently requires granting organization-level permissions to DoiT for data sinking from all projects within an organization. This requirement is not compatible with our company’s security policies, which strictly adhere to the Principle of Least Privileges and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) protocols.

    Proposed Enhancement:
We propose an alternative approach where clients can manage the data sinking process internally, providing…

  2. Most customer environment either as a value for the "Name" tag or in the resource name contain a piece of info about the deployment stage of that resource (i.e. "prod", "test", "sandbox").

It would be great if we could have a default attribution that looks for "prod" string (case insensitive) in resource names and name tag values. Also another attribution that looks for "test" or "stage" or "sandbox". This 2 Attributions could then be combined in an Attribution group available to all customers by default.

While not perfect, this opinionated approach is a start to allow customers to derive hierarchy…

  3. Google provides a an API to access SKU Groups such as "Standard On-Demand VMs" or "Cloud Storage".

By having Attributions (and further an overall Attribution Group), we could easily analyse spend based on these. It would be extremely helpful when preparing for GCP Commitments.

  4. We would like to be able to get alerts either monthly or quarterly alerting us to how we are pacing toward our EDP Commitment. It would be helpful information to allow customers the visibly into potential shortfall that was automatically being sent out.

  5. This is an idea for all lenses

Add a "Contact an <Lens> Expert" button to all Lenses dashboards that would automatically open a CRE ticket with all relevant context.

For example the GKE Lens should have a "Contact a GKE Expert)
This way customers have better experience and quick access to our CRE team

  6. Customers often receive monthly subscriptions or charges for cloud services on the 1st of each month, such as Cognito, IAM Analyzer, or backups. These charges frequently trigger cost anomaly alerts, causing unnecessary panic and notifications in Slack channels or emails. Instead of treating these as cost anomalies, it would be more appropriate to classify them as 'Monthly Cost Awareness' or 'Monthly Charges by SKU,' as they are expected expenses rather than anomalies.

  7. Customer Problem:

As a customer, I would like to be able to send notifications such as Cost Anomalies, invoices, quota monitoring, cloud incidents, etc., to Microsoft Teams public and private channels in a native way, similar to the functionality that exists today for Slack.

  8. We recently had a request from a customer to get provider costs over slack similar to what Amazon Q provides on the AWS console but for slack.

I think it would be great for customers to have the ability to tag AVA on their shared slack channel and ask questions such as:
"How much have I spent on account xxxx in the past 30 days?"

  10. With the newly introduced DataHub, it would be great if we could provide connectors for easy ingestion of cloud sustainability data:

This functionality would allow allocation and visualization of sustainability data behind a single pane of glass within DoiT Navigator.

(This idea supports the implementation of https://uservoice.doit.com/forums/957092-doit-cloud-navigator/suggestions/48342290-support-cloud-carbon-footprint-reporting.)

  11. Today budget alerts are send when the actual percent of the budget is consumed. In order to reduce false alarms, it would be great if there would be an option to only send the alert if the projected cost of the budget will reach 100%.
For example, if I have a budget alert set to 50% and the predicted spend will not reach 100% this month the alert will not be sent.

  12. Customer wishes they could annotate reports in the console so they can mark which month eg. they made a specific change in their infrastructure. This way dips or spikes that were expected could be clarified in reports with a little note.

  15. Eg. the month of October shows now only the actual spend and November is the forecast.
Ideally, from a monitoring point of view, it would be nice if the month of October could be filled on top with the forecast to see it nicely per month.

  19. When we create projects in GCP, all projects that we create end up in the same billing bucket in the DoiT console. It would be great if we could set up some rules / configuration on the DoiT side to organize projects into different billing buckets based on the GCP project labels / tags. If that was possible, then it's easy for us to just label the projects we create appropriately in our Terraform. Lacking that, even enabling us to manage billing bucket project allocations via your REST API would be preferable to manually assigning projects.

Please introduce an option for organizations to select different date formats before an invoice is issued.
