  1. Got this question from a customer I think it is good idea to add chat capabilities somehow for our tickets :slightlysmilingface:

    "Is chat support available? I recently had a great experience with Pressable, the company that hosts our WP site. I had an issue moving a staging site to production with DNS, and the tech was able to help within a few minutes of chatting back and forth. I provided screenshots and a video of what was happening. Could your reps provide a similar experience?"

  2. Hello Team,

    The customer is lacking the functionality to combine multiple Metrics into one report to get overall cost views quicker and easier.

    At the moment, the customer needs to choose one specific Metric, and crate individual reports on that chosen Metric. The only way to get overview information on Savings, Amortized Cost, Amortized Savings. etc. is to bring those individual source reports to a Dashboard.

    Suggestion:

    Allow multiple Metrics to be included when creating a report for a better overview on specific costs. This would help to see all information on a specific Service for example, so all cost…

  3. When a customer has overdue invoices, Navigator shows a top banner with a warning to all signed-in users: "Overdue and outstanding invoices - We are unable to renew your Cloud subscription. Please pay overdue invoices or you may not be able to use these services."

    A customer that has that banner while working with DoiT's teams to resolve the payment issue (transfers applied incorrectly to invoices, nothing overdue) suggested that the banner shouldn't be shown to all users or should be made configurable as it raises unnecessary repeated questions for them internally.

  4. Dear Product Team,

    I am reaching out to request the addition of a new feature that would greatly enhance the management capabilities within our customers' engineering teams.
    I have a customer, he is an Engineering Manager, and he has encountered limitations in overseeing and managing the reports, dashboards, and alerts created by members of my team.

  5. We would like to be able to get alerts either monthly or quarterly alerting us to how we are pacing toward our EDP Commitment. It would be helpful information to allow customers the visibly into potential shortfall that was automatically being sent out.

  6. Issue: trying to query large and granular datasets from the Billing data source.
    This is not possible without pagination since the rate limit and payload size limit are insufficient to do it in scale.
    Pagination is already implemented in other endpoints in the analytics API but not in the endpoint that will be most affected by it.

  7. Currently it is not possible to assign a DoiT Organization to a new user when they are invited to Navigator. We propose the following changes:
    1. Make it clear which Organization is the "default" organization by using that term. The default Org should include all data for all clouds.
    2. Enable the selection of an Organization for new users in the "Invite new user" flow. Currently it is only possible to select their Role.
    3. Automatically add all Users to the default Organization unless they are moved to a different Organization.

  8. If you're going to provide lambda/policy/eventbridge config to organize OUs automatically when FlexSave accounts are added to the org, you might as well provide some IAC (terraform/cloudformation) to deploy it.

  9. Regex within attribution group will minimize the user overhead of adding manually attributions to the attribution group.

    When 10's or 100's of attributions are created with a naming convention (Example: End Customer Name) and all are added to a single attribution group, having a regex in this case will simplify the process of adding those attributions. Instead of manual selection, a single line of Regex will auto select the attributions created but also will automatically add the newly created attributions without the need of user intervention

  12. Can we consider a forecast that includes budget, actual spend and forecast all in one report? Customers will then have the ability to track their current spend, see the forecasted spend with budget mapped across both spend metrics.

    Customers should also have the option to filter forecasted and actual spend by service and attribution. Lastly the ability to create a growth factor by month/quarter to incorporate future projects in the forecast will be key for the majority of FinOps users

  13. When creating a Report, the default visibility is set to "private" in the console. Using the API (and TF provider), it would be nice to be able to set the visibility of the report.

  14. Most customer environment either as a value for the "Name" tag or in the resource name contain a piece of info about the deployment stage of that resource (i.e. "prod", "test", "sandbox").

    It would be great if we could have a default attribution that looks for "prod" string (case insensitive) in resource names and name tag values. Also another attribution that looks for "test" or "stage" or "sandbox". This 2 Attributions could then be combined in an Attribution group available to all customers by default.

    While not perfect, this opinionated approach is a start to allow customers to derive hierarchy…

  15. Customers often receive monthly subscriptions or charges for cloud services on the 1st of each month, such as Cognito, IAM Analyzer, or backups. These charges frequently trigger cost anomaly alerts, causing unnecessary panic and notifications in Slack channels or emails. Instead of treating these as cost anomalies, it would be more appropriate to classify them as 'Monthly Cost Awareness' or 'Monthly Charges by SKU,' as they are expected expenses rather than anomalies.

    It would be very interesting to develop a feature that enables customers to prioritise their cost saving opportunities based on potential financial benefits and to assess these opportunities within an effort matrix for better decision-making alongside the Insight feature.

    Feature => Cost savings evaluation tool:
    It would be a complementary tool with Insights that allows customers to input data and receive an estimation of the financial benefits from the insights and recommendations provided.

  17. Customer would like to be able to adjust reports vertically to make some reports larger in a dashboard. They would also like to display a single number, such as a health metric or total cloud cost, in a widget in a custom dashboard. Customer plans to enable SSO for their entity/specific domain, and would like to be able to automatically assign the proper DoiT Organization restriction to all users with this domain who sign in via SSO. Currently this assignment must be managed manually, which is complicated as the customer plans to invite a high number of users.

    I am writing to submit a feature request to address a critical issue we are facing with the management of AWS Root Account email notifications for multiple orgs under our management.

    Issue Summary:
    Currently, when we onboard subsidiaries and assign dedicated AWS Management Account Root email addresses, all notifications are being directed to the same mailbox. This setup results in important notifications being shared across subsidiaries, leading to potential security and privacy concerns.
