  1. When splitting a shared cost (eg. "Shared Infrastructure" grouping) by other Attributions (eg. "Product 1" and "Product 2"), customer would like to be able to show only part of the result in a report.

    At the moment it is not possible to build a report that combines eg. 30% of "Shared Infrastructure" with "Product 1" and shows the cost of only this. It is only possible to designate a full 100% split of "Shared Infrastructure" and the report must show each Attribution included in the split.

  2. Could we split the fixed fee for DCI over multiple underlying entities in the invoice? I.e. 3.5K divided by 2 or more related entities within the same group? Phase 2 would then be dividing the fixed fee pro rato based on the actual cloud usage.

  5. Hello Team,

    Currently the customer needs to open the Insight page to see and review the optimization opportunities.

    It would be great to have Notification setup possible on freshly posted Insights within the customer's Navigator. The same fashion as for Cost Anomaly detection, where they can get notified via Slack for example.

  6. If you're going to provide lambda/policy/eventbridge config to organize OUs automatically when FlexSave accounts are added to the org, you might as well provide some IAC (terraform/cloudformation) to deploy it.

  7. adding "COUNT" to the metric so that it generates a value to be used in the formula.

    Example/Use-case: Creating an attribution with "Account/Project" with Regex (will automatically pick newly added projects that matches the Regex) and instead of returning the cost it returns the count/number of projects within the attribution.

    calculate all costs of production environments,
    (100k) and divide them by the amount of environments, (40), so that I get an average cost per environment (2500€). And then display this metric over time

  8. Regex within attribution group will minimize the user overhead of adding manually attributions to the attribution group.

    When 10's or 100's of attributions are created with a naming convention (Example: End Customer Name) and all are added to a single attribution group, having a regex in this case will simplify the process of adding those attributions. Instead of manual selection, a single line of Regex will auto select the attributions created but also will automatically add the newly created attributions without the need of user intervention

  9. Customers have requested a tool that would help them to better forecast their costs, based partially on the history (which we already have) with the ability to adjust, such as:
    - simulate a cost optimisation across specific workloads / projects / accounts of 10% per month over 3 months.
    - simulate deployment of new services at different times in the next year. e.g. we know we'll deploy a thing that costs $10k/month and grow to $20k over a few months.

  11. Can we consider a forecast that includes budget, actual spend and forecast all in one report? Customers will then have the ability to track their current spend, see the forecasted spend with budget mapped across both spend metrics.

    Customers should also have the option to filter forecasted and actual spend by service and attribution. Lastly the ability to create a growth factor by month/quarter to incorporate future projects in the forecast will be key for the majority of FinOps users

  13. We should implement an easy way to open a ticket with a CRE from a cost anomaly page like we do with Insights.

    Just like a customer might want to review an Insight with a CRE to go over whether its relevant in the context of their business / strategy, a customer might want to troubleshoot an anomaly with a CRE.

    I’d bet there have already been situations where a customer opened a ticket to review a detected anomaly with a CRE.

    Could also be a good up-sell for Essentials customers as well, who have anomaly detection but don't have…

  14. Make the forecast on the pulse and lens dashboards include tax and support.

    I'm not sure it does that already and it always adds an extra large chunk on top of whatever was forecasted.

  16. Today, I can't scope an Alert to an attribution group — only attributions. However, I think there's a compelling use case.

    If I create an attribution group "Engineering Team" I might want to set an alert that then monitors for each individual team in that Attribution Group with the optional "Evaluate for each" setting. Today I can't do that. Instead I have to create an alert for each attribution.

  18. Eg. the month of October shows now only the actual spend and November is the forecast.
    Ideally, from a monitoring point of view, it would be nice if the month of October could be filled on top with the forecast to see it nicely per month.

  19. Most customer environment either as a value for the "Name" tag or in the resource name contain a piece of info about the deployment stage of that resource (i.e. "prod", "test", "sandbox").

    It would be great if we could have a default attribution that looks for "prod" string (case insensitive) in resource names and name tag values. Also another attribution that looks for "test" or "stage" or "sandbox". This 2 Attributions could then be combined in an Attribution group available to all customers by default.

    While not perfect, this opinionated approach is a start to allow customers to derive hierarchy…

  20. Google provides a an API to access SKU Groups such as "Standard On-Demand VMs" or "Cloud Storage".

    By having Attributions (and further an overall Attribution Group), we could easily analyse spend based on these. It would be extremely helpful when preparing for GCP Commitments.
